About us
Azores Roots & Routes was created to offer a more personal and meaningful way to experience São Miguel. Through guided trails, local experiences and island tours, the project invites visitors to connect with the island beyond its scenery - trough its history, traditions and sense of place.

Each experience is designed to help travellers appreciate not only what they see, but also the natural, cultural and human elements that make each place unique. From native vegetation and volcanic landscapes to rural life and local heritage, the focus is on creating experiences that feel authentic and with value for visitors and locals.

Azores Roots & Routes is led by Vítor Couto, a local certified nature and interpretive guide with a deep-rooted connection to São Miguel.
